Saturday 9 April analysis
Yesterday was a day that was occupied by football. Most of the major leagues had matches yesterday. I will analyse all the matches (some of them very quick analysation) league by league. Please comment your own thoughts and hopefully they'll get moderated (if it's appropriate). So let's get started:
La Liga
Above you can see Cristiano Ronaldo preforming his well known "Si" celebration. He did score for Real Madrid in their 4-0 win against Eibar at home. And after the result for Real Sociedad against Barcelona Real Madrid only Have 4 points left to Barcelona. All four goals came in the first half. Many people thought his match would end about 7-0 or 8-0 but the second half didn't show us any goals. That just shows weak Real Madrid were in the second half but it wasn't of course the best team (many reserves were playing). Serigio Ramos has now completed his suspension, and Benzema should return for the home game against Wolfsburg.
At another match Atletico managed to get a 3-1 win agianst Espanyol. The first half ended 1-1 but Atletico picked up strength and won with 3-1 against Espanyol, and keep the chase for the league. Espanyol was the team to take the lead but then they conceded 3 goals. The goals came from:
Diop (Espanyol) and Torres, Griezmann, Koke (Atletico Madrid).
After the two wins from Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid, Barcelona could feel the pressure before the game. And it wasn't an easy game either. Real Sociedad is a very good team and especially at their own home ground. Real Sociedad started strongly with a goal after 5 minutes. But nobody thought Sociedad would be able to keep their lead until the last minute. Well, they managed to do that, and that closed the big gap between Real Madrid, Atletico and Barcelona (who were leading the lead with a big advantage). The question now is if they manage to keep their 3 point advantage to Atletico Madrid or will they lose everything. This is turning out to be very interesting and exciting.
Premier League
Yesterday was a very interesting day in premier league and we'll start of directly with the best match of the day; Arsenal vs West Ham
The game started off very good for Arsenal. They had a 0-2 lead after goals from Mesut Özil and Alexis Sanchez. But the happiness didn't last for more than 44 minutes. Andy Carroll scored 2 goals in 3 minutes (44 and 45+2). That took West Ham back on level terms for the second half. 7 minutes into the first half, Michail Antonio gets past Nacho Monreal with his strength, puts a high ball into the box and Andy Carroll manages to get his head onto the ball and heads it straight into the goal to score his hattrick and make it a 3 goal comeback for West Ham.
But Koscielny managed to get the equaliser for Arsenal and the match ended 3-3. That has ended Arsenals hopes for a league win this season.
At the Etihad we saw Manchester City play against West Brom. West Brom. scored 0-1 at the 6th minute but after a well taken penalty from Agüero at the 19th minute, it was 1-1. Later at the 66th minute Samir Nasri scored at the rebound from a very good attack. But Manchester City still have a Milestone up to Leicester and are probably focusing at the Champions League spot they want to take from Arsenal right now.
One of the biggest surprises yesterday was the 1-0 win for Swansea against Chelsea at The Liberty Stadium. Sigurdsson scored at the 25th minute. Sigurdsson is a rising star and many people want to see what he can do for Iceland at the Euro 2016. Please check out my Euro 2016 tab and comment for any requests. Thanks!
